Seeing as I am being harrassed to show some pics now that the rims have been painted I thought I would do a quick driveway thread.

I won't go into every previous subaru I've had instead I'll just chuck up the current car..........

MY08 GTB TBSTi

Bought brand new from Penrith Subaru as the last availble brand new in MY08 and sold to me a a Demo in December 2008 with 8km on the clock.

Went to Sydney to look at 2 cars and bought this one on the spot and had it on a truck by the following day to come back to Perth.

Mods so far
ECUTek by Wizza at MMS (only man to ever tune any of my cars so I now have to place some trust in someone else)
MMS Butler exhaust
DMS 40mm Coilovers
Arai lip extension (also known as roller door rubber lip)
Whiteline sway bars front and rear
Other minor bits and pieces

Here is a shot of what it currently looks like as I have jsut had the Sti Enkei's painted Gun Metallic......

Planned for next month....
VF52 turbo
New headers
New Tune
Fuel Pump
Process West TMIC
Ganador Carbon LED Mirrors
Rebuild and service DMS

American Dave 10-01-2012 12:15 PM

finally, I will show you harrassed ! LOL

Mister Two 10-01-2012 12:22 PM

Nice man. But a vf52 wont be much of a step up from your current turbo.

Id go straight to a td05-20G. GTpumps makes a bolt on version for GT Liberty.

American Dave 10-01-2012 12:27 PM

vf52 will see 20 kw atw increase over the vf46 I reckon, add the supporting mods and it might be closer to 30 kw atw increase. I suggest 210 kw atw with conservative tune....more that this and well you know the story...dak dak boom

BoxorBeast 10-01-2012 12:30 PM

Looks really good, I like it

Kato 10-01-2012 12:40 PM

Very nice, I do love the tuned by sti liberties!

GTB Liberty 10-01-2012 12:42 PM

Looks good Scary - is there any "greenish" hue in the rims?

BOMB3R 10-01-2012 12:50 PM

Nice Shane, I was also thinking why the VF52........Dave seems to have answered it though :)

teejay 10-01-2012 01:07 PM

About time!

magic1 10-01-2012 01:14 PM

tyres are out of the office then?

XT43 10-01-2012 01:16 PM

Sounded mint when you fired it up after lunch a few weeks back.

Very tidy!

muggz 10-01-2012 01:23 PM

Sounded even better at Collie track day back in '09 something along the lines of a spitfire was more appropriate! ;)

I have seriously comsidered one of the BBK jobbies but they just haven't been proven enough for my liking - as far as the GTpumps version has anyone actually got a good news story about them???

realistically I am scared of lag after the old car had the VF22 on it and keeping a small turbo and the awseome spool is good for this car gets used for.

When I get a track weapon again to try and hose people it will be a long way from this car and more like the old legacy which was an animal and poorly behaved all the time. :)

that was a fun day - best comment of the day - "are you changing into 5th coming off the main straight???

Yes ......yes I am

BALISTC 10-01-2012 02:35 PM

Very very nice Shane!

GTB Liberty 10-01-2012 02:36 PM

The Liberty chassis can take some extra speed into a corner . . .

Jimmy S 10-01-2012 02:45 PM

Looks great Shano... Where are your spacers though? The shadow from the overhanging guards makes it hard to see the rims! ;)

Also... VF52 is massive fail... and has been proven by a number of people including Jme's old Liberty... But we've discussed this at length a number of times already.

Mister Two 10-01-2012 02:54 PM

Lag isnt a big problem on a 2.5L. Im running a td06-20G and I still have 1 BAR of boost @ 3000rpm on my 2.5L. And thats on older style heads with no AVCS to help.

td05-20G will have fuck all extra lag over the OEM turbo and will give you that extra 30kw atw while requiring less boost compared to a vf52.

Wildbill 10-01-2012 03:57 PM

get a gas axe and cut some weight out of the porker, no need for more power...Oversteer has a modded gt wagon that goes well....and that not his other red wagon...his a 2 wagon boy...old and new...

only every night when I close my eyes

scary 18-01-2012 03:45 PM

OK so change of plan today

Ordered from Troy at Prospeed

BBK-M
Walbro
Unequal length Headers
Process West TMIC
Silicon inlet pipes

Carmods Aus

Grimm Speed 3 port solenoid.

Hopefully it can all be here for when the tuner comes over from NSW to tune at MMS (left it a bit late) or I will have to go and see Sean and get the ECUTek taken off and go Verso.

Fingers crossed these BBK turbos are all they are cracked up to be

magic1 18-01-2012 03:54 PM

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss

teejay 18-01-2012 03:55 PM

Hahaha you cracked. Top work.

GTB Liberty 18-01-2012 03:58 PM

Unequal length headers?

Wanting "dak dak" back Shane? :D

Can't wait for a drive . . .

Which PW IC suits & does it come with an appropriate splitter?

Jimmy S 18-01-2012 04:18 PM

SENSATIONAL CHOICE Sandy!

American Dave 18-01-2012 06:08 PM

ps..troy is doing a GB price for the BBK and PW Cooler over at OzFoz so dont pay too much !! Several SH Foz owners have taken the punt on this snail but nobody really knows how they will go.

Master D 18-01-2012 07:01 PM

What do you mean get dak dak back? It already is dak dak!

PW do a TMIC to suit the lib with splitter, same as Dave's on the foz

fatboy 19-01-2012 10:27 AM

Shane, does this have a similar engine to the my08 wrx?

If so i am well keen to see results!

$1445 for the BBK-M Turbo 18G
$950 for the PW TMIC

I emailed you the whole GB pricing spreadsheet last night as well mate.

Are you going to use the stock box and bov Shane?

I bit the bullet and ordered a pw cai as well, may regret it later with fully hectic induction noise on a daily driver

I thought your / my model had equal length being more "vak vak" than "dak dak"?
