I couldn't agree more with Russ, get out there and have some fun and get some seat time and spend the 5K + you would spend on your engine swapping to a 207, on track days instead. Trust me you will have more fun that way, your car has a good set of mods and plenty of power to have great fun and rip good skidz.

Heck, ALEX. (Alex Butler) beat Tino's (and most of perth wrx, with decent modifications) times at the last rallysprint in his stock as a rock (engine wise) 2000 GC8, with good suspension and tyres because he gets on the track a lot and is a good driver as a result. And Tino has only spent a lazy 50 million on his car so far....

Linky to show that Justin S was the only one in a WRX from Perth WRX to have a better time than Alex, and his red beast is a purpose built track built car with lot of $$ spent:

Alex not afraid to bin 12k car, Tino very wary of binning 250k car...it doesn't matter where you finish, get out there and have fun.

i think there is a charade on that results sheet? just goes to show you can have fun in anything...

HA Alex would be lucky to get 6K for it! and even then he'd cry like a little girl if he broke it for the 10th time
I'm merely making a point of getting seat time.

Simon and Daz have a track hack that has decent mods on it now and are getting good track time in and improving every single week!

Get on the track and then when parts break, upgrade

My recommendation is to hold onto the money and wait for something to break as Sam has suggested. If you keep fresh oil in your engine and its tuned correctly it should last for quite some time yet.

If you hold onto your money you can buy a new gearbox when it go's.. which i think it will before the engine. I think a correctly tuned 200ATW wont destroy a 205 in a hurry

***Update***

Greddy/TRUST FMIC (heat wrapped)
Process West CAI
HKS SSQV (recirculated to keep it legal)
Fog Light Covers

Made the same power because I maxxed the injectors.

Also found out my fuel economy is around 10-10.5L/100KM

So had a great day on the skid pan (10-6-2012). Plenty of oversteer moment thanks to the rain and the coils set 75% front and 65% rear

So I really am keen to do another one, or two... Or as many as I can! But before then I want to upgrade the injectors (give me more headroom) and a TD05 16G . (TD05 is good for the 200kw I want from it)

The AVO 450 is fun on the straights but hopeless under 3500rpm. So I am hoping the 16G will be making close to full boost by 3500rpm. Can anyone confirm or denie the full boost rpm of the 16G?

So few things happening the past few days:

1) Tracked down a TD05-16G
2) Bought some 750cc Injectors (shouldn't max these bad-boys out)
3) Found my MC motorsport calander and waiting for PAY-DAY to book 2-3 more events. Long track preferably so I can get some HIGH SPEED experiance where I won't worry about demerit points.

ALSO, my last skidpan day has already paid for itself

On my way home (in the early AM) coming off Grogan Rd onto Abernethy Rd, towards High Wycombe, must have driven through some oil or something because 4-wheel-drift! Lucky I had plenty of practise on the skidpan and was able to bring the car into line and not into a light pole

So over the past week I have had a bit going on.

- TD05 18G in on its way.
- 725cc Injectors are on their way.
- New tune, spark-plugs, boost and service in the coming weeks (yet to be booked).
- Work has been getting in the way of more track days!?!? Every PWRX day lately I have been working those days/parts of those days.

Daniel.

Hey all,

As some of you may have seen my beloved WRX is for sale.

***FREE PLUG***
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/sale-car...c-evo-7-a.html

It's a pity it has to go but I got the opportunity that I could not pass up.
I put a deposit on a 2012 MPS 3 (2013 series 3/facelift specification) from Melville Mazda. I have been waiting for a while for this model to make an appearance and got a little surprise when Mazda called me so soon (was expecting early/mid next year).

Been sussing one out since a test drive several months ago. They are brutal, torque-steering animals! So much fun to drive quick and easy to drive normally. It's like my Integra all over again and I honestly missed the FWD chassis going to the WRX.

I hope to get it by November, so a bit of a wait
It will be given a catback, Cobb accessport, tint and springs to finish off the already great package

I can certainly recommend Melville, great service, advice and value.
Now hopefully I can sell my car soon and start collecting parts in anticipation

Daniel.
