At least the red dirt up there will blend in with the car

Hey man...

Not a fan of the colour but that Orange/ Black combo is pretty mean....

Agree on the interior...i hate mine! Why did they not just release a black interior like the USDM Limited STIs or the Spec Cs....ffs 55k car and some shitty blue fast and furious interior..../rant haha

What are your camber specs and ride height? I recently upgraded wheels and also had a rubbing problem. Also spoke to Dez who said there isn't too much you can do with the rear guards. I ended up getting more camber and just raising the height. I'm on about 2.5neg all round, with a one chinese finger gap between tyre and fender all round. No rub at all on compression now.

Also i think it's time for an 06/07 STI meetup! There's heaps of us now!

I'm not quite sure of the camber adjustment as my friend had it done for me while I was overseas and he was looking after my car. They adjusted as much negative camber as they could and raised the height another inch to what I had it set. It's fine when I drive around by myself, but add a little weight in the back, it starts hitting when I go over bumpy roads, around corners or hit a ditch. The guys from STechnic said the best bet to get rid of it all is to put in lateral links. I think it was Doug that I was talking to said he had the same issue with his car and he put in lateral links and never had a problem since.

As I don't ge to Perth to often, but I'm down for a 06/07 meetup if I can make it.

guards can be rolled by a professional, with a mallot, not a rolling machine. Some people don't have the skill and fine touch to do it properly though. Luke from Dentcraft does

my offset defiantly isn't aggressive, but it's these bloody rear gaurds...im thinking about taking off the wheels and going at it with a grinder and get rid of the whole inner lip...but then again i dont want it to be a dodgy fix...i want it done properly how they do it in the states. i spoke to dez and like he has said to everyone else theres not much he can do.
Hmm Daniel (cinaber) may have a solution soon.....

If you google TheClap, he is like a fitment pro over in the states...on his blog is a pretty detailed writeup that shows how to remove the flare, grind the shit out of it and put it all back together, enabling you to run more more aggressive setups...

Although 18x8 with 225s are a pretty weak setup and shouldn't rub. Are you slammed at all?

Might be worth raising it. I had mind slammed for a few months and it caused too many problems.

I wish I knew that sooner. But I've already purchased the lateral links and they are just waiting to be fitted. But the boys from STechnic said it should solve all my problems. So we'll see how it plays out.

Welcome to the forums and great car/setup you've got already

With the wheels, im sure what Stechnic has suggested will work. Pretty sure Doug runs the same size and offset on his new tarmac rally car as well

As for the solution from Th3clap, im waiting from Owen at Melthams to confirm if it can be done and for a reasonable price. If not ill try a few other places including the one Kym listed - Luke from Dentcraft.
