Default The Gong

I'd better write one of these so you can all keep track of my awesomeness!! hehe..

Wanted to buy a sportscar of some sort for my 30th birthday as i'd never owned one and with 40 g's in my pocket i went to the city.. looked at a 500hp (with dyno chart) vz ssv 6.0 with skulls n flames n what not, was a beast but i wasnt too comfortable with it. next was an evo 9 that had mild work and about 67'000ks on it.. was quick as hell and felt very sharp but sounded gross with its milo tin. then i seen the sti on a private ad, 1 owner with only 33'000ks on it. he loved this car so much him and his missus where crying as i drove off! i felt so bad!! Car had a 3inch TBE and a tune and a tune putting out about 250 atw and 380nm.

first to be replaced was the clutch as i tortured the poor thing when i got it and it didnt last.. in went the infamous xtreme HD and woobalay and i wasnt too imprezzed but life goes on.

Next was the rotors as they had a couple of mm lip so i opted for dba5000's on the front and 4000's for the rear thanks to greg from gsl rallysports. ditched the ceramic pads for some street ones to stop the squeaks and improve cold performance. they bite well but fade when hot and are damn dirty things! rims go black in a day or 2..

Stock stereo blows chunks so i got a poineer avh touchscreen put in so i could play mp3's and answer my phone legally. Replaced front speakers with pioneers as well and soundproofing in the front doors.. Also installed a reverse camera. Sounds ok but no real depth obviously, have 1000w mono block amp, cables and 1000w subby in a bazooka tube but chose not to install them as i am not too crazy for the doof and the gear weighs a fair bit.

Talked to whiteline and they sent me 22mm sways F+R and an ALK that collected dust for some time.

just over 10,000 ks and my shuddery xtreme was starting to slip even though it was treated a LOT nicer than the original item..
I was also being treated to an occasional engine light wich i was really concerned about as i fear it was detonation so i ogranised for mao at evo R to diagnose it for me.. He informed me it was a problem with the wastegate opening too early and a result of a lazy tune so i booked in to get it retuned and another clutch.

Was going an exedy HD full face and flywheel but opted for the stage 3 six puck design for a bit more bite. also had it retuned as below and the swaybars installed.

Swaybars made the linkages make nasty knocking noises (where where you ont that one mr whiteline specialist!! grrr!) so i ordered some hd linkages to match and had them and the ALK installed, now it is all well and feels more steady changing directions.. havent really had it on edge much as i havs no licence now! haha good ol multinovas shot me to death doing 10 k's over many times.

Finally happy with car and then whammy! missus hits a roo heading home from suspension job.. NOOH! ahaha

Turns out its only panel damage and we drove home.
So cars been at panel beaters, new bonnet, scoop, lhf fender, new sti front spoiler from japland, and also a set of these going in.

Looked at CF bonnets and crazy front spoilers but opted to stick to the stock gear.. Get the car back in a few days and will show you guys the results. Seen it today and it looks like new again. my front end was fairly stone chipped to death due to highways so im glad its all new again.

Also ordered a WR blue carbra to keep the front end clean..

Thats where we are at, next on the list is a V1 detector as i refuse to drive without one and very jealous of my mates one..

Unlucky about the roo! When and where did that happen? You got off lightly I'd say.

ps. those headlights are gayer than Elton John being fisted by Boy George (not quite as gay as my Hella Supertones)

Hahah that was an interesting read....

2 clutches within 10,000km

Seems you treat the car really good

TROLLEY: The headlights match the sticker on the rear spoiler.

hahaah i agree, lucky she didnt roll it or anything! happened just outside of leeman on the coastal road at dusk. See how the lights go.. Gayer than two dicks touching maybe? Seen them in today and they look pretty good.. Imagine they will turn to crap in 6 months but i was itching to change something as forking out wads to have it exactly the same hurt. Good thing i have some spare dimes lying around.. hehe

clutch was half shot when i got it and it still lasted longer than the xtreme!
first one lasted 15000 odd, 10 for the woobalay.. new one will outlast both combined i reckon, or spit my gearbox out! lol
Wing stickers where on it on purchase, also had a big STI one on the windscreen but it annoyed me in my face so it was quick to go.. wing ones faded and are gone now too.. am i cool again?? lol

To be honest, I've always liked those LED lights... just not on a Subaru.
