I haven't used a sd card in it, used my iPod but then my iPod shat itself so now I use usbs. Should have got the unit that had rear USB connection rather than it sticking out at the front but oh well. Only goes slow if I have too many song in one folder so I've seperated a lot of my music

IPod goes pretty well but sd is the go, load then leave it. Switches files fast as, just initial boot takes bout 30 seconds. Peace out from Phuket! :-)
