Hmmm, interesting, so do you guys reckon lose the front bar?

I've got the coilovers at the front so should keep it quite steady?

No. If you like the way it handles, why touch it?

Is it working for you?
Do you like the way it handles?

Well it sticks really well in corners, but I've never pushed it to the point of losing traction.

I might experiment with it off for a while and see how it goes, I can always put it back on if I find it to be shite...

Seeing these photos, I certainly miss the old girl. I can't believe how well the front lip and mesh grille improve the look!

The car originally had stock sway bars and no front strut brace when I purchased it but I had the Whiteline gear lying around and put them on as soon as I picked it up. I may have listed the front and rear sway bar sizes round the wrong way in the for sale thread but can't say for sure. You may want to measure for yourself.

In terms of handling, I took the car on a few track days and it handled excellently every time, very neutral handling with very little understeer so I'd be surprised if it handles better without the front sway bar.

It would be great to see the car restored to it's former glory with a front end respray. I probably wouldn't bother with a FMIC unless you want to go with a TD05 16G/VF34 sized turbo for more power as the stock water to air TMIC is very efficient and minimises turbo lag.

Enjoy

Thanks for that Sam, will probably leave everything as it is then.

I'm kind of on the fence on getting it resprayed, logic is telling me not too seeing as it is stored outdoors, a decent closed door respray would cost more than half the total value of the car and among other things such as it costing more than just face value as I would have to upgrade insurance to comprehensive (from third party).

The want is there though

Thought this was due for an update, I have moved on to a white GF8:

It has a few goodies such as STi rear lights and seats, '02 STi wheels, STi brembo front and rear brakes, 3" cat-back apexi exhaust and lowered on king springs.

The brembos are a bit of overkill considering everything engine wise is stock, but man are they awesome.

Plans for the near future are little, will probably just enjoy it.

A little further down the track I imagine the performance mods will start... turbo back exhaust, STi top mount intercooler, maybe a different turbo followed by a tune.
