Oops.

I rang Chris at Diversion Garage yesterday to order an oem short block, pistons, gaskets, studs etc to get the car back on the road quickly and painlessly. Somehow during that phone call I came away with one of these.

My block will have standard size head studs and the closed deck block insert is different to the one pictured. This was the original design where Chris removed the factory webbing and pressed in the single insert that wrapped around the bores.

The new design leaves the factory webbing supports in place and the inserts are divided into six sections around them to allow the bores to expand when they heat up up.

I'm sure plenty of people will think this is too much engine for my goals. I can understand that but my little brothers words keep ringing in my ears ''do it once do it right meathead''.

Chris said that he would be far happier with me in a block like this because I am on e85 and will be flogging the piss out of it at the track every chance I get. I also have zero intentions of selling the car, I have owned it for five years and still love driving it. Bla bla, bla... Yes yes on to the build porn, here you go.
