So with all the other jobs I have to do ATM , have still found time to guide my son with his first car . A SF5 forester with dual range as he likes surfing and camping.
He picked it up for $500 bucks and we have spent about 1200 on it to get it ready for licence . Just finished today guiding him through his first engine freshen up . All new gaskets ,seals ,hoses, timing belt , water pump and oil pump. Clutch tomorrow then back in and over the pits.

He has replaced the carpet with new stuff, wrx seats , late GC8 Momo, Alarm, new struts, front 4 pots with slotted rotors and new slotted rotors and pads in the rear. Fully cleaned and detailed the underneath of the car , 17 inch GD wheels.

Not bad for his first car and best of all he had built it up how he wants it . Now he wants to save to build a semi closed forged EJ for when he gets off his P plates lol .

Cheers Patch ,
Yeah I really wanted to share the experience with him I started him off by rebuilding an old 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton about 18 months ago , some of my best memories are helping my grandfather from the age of about 12 onwards .
The motor is in now so just fitting a new radiator and hoses then over the pits . I also think the life experience gained by doing it yourself , especially for a nearly 18 yo will hopefully teach him to respect his car as he knows the work that goes into fixing things .
Just as well my wife loves motorsport too or my son and I would be screwed lol

So update for the 2 door Ive been working on . Its off to the tuners this week . Couple of finishing touches like relocating the ECU USB so you dont have to rip up the carpet or have a cord hanging around, just plug in for tuning and download onboard datalogging.

Great looking gauges and buttons. Almost as much bling as Gordon's cockpit.
