Ok People time for an update . Surgery done was and im well on the road to recovery . Have been tinkering the last few weeks . So finally fitted the carbon dash inserts and gauges.

Fitted 1000cc injectors to go with the Td05h that I had a billet wheel and upgrade done by Grant at Per4manz . So now its more a 25g which should last me till the new Motor.

Aircon delete finally done and upgrade to the WAIC . Also fitted a new catch can .Waiting for my back to be good enough to pull this rwd box out and put a new box ive built in so back to AWD and DCCD as well. Also had the gearset cryo treated.

Ok the new motor that Im building , this is my midlife crisis motor . Have got another closed deck thats being modded to dual thrust. Billet dual thrust 2.5 crank , Manley rods , ceramic coated Cp forged pistons, GTB Heads Ported polished , Shimless buckets , GSC double hi rpm valve springs with titanium retainers , 272 cams , and a Precision 5530 or 5830 turbo yet to decide.

Obviously a 6 speed as well

Really tidy work so far man, you clearly have an eye for detail! Can I ask why you deleted the AC though? I may have missed it earlier in this thread, but will this be a dedicated track car? The reason I ask is that I personally think of AC as being one of mankind's greatest inventions lol so am genuinely interested in how much an AC unit would weigh to make it worthwhile...or is it a space issue as well? Anyway, this thing is clearly going to be a weapon, so am looking forward to seeing the build progress!

Removing AC has a few benifits.

No condensor means more space for FMIC and better airflow aswell.
No compressor (and reversed mani) allow for shorter more direct FMIC piping.
Compressor has parasitic drag when in operation. No AC = more power to the wheels.
component weight all adds up. Pulling it out saves weight.
No AC means easier work on engine. 1 less step when removing engine etc.
no AC saves fuel. (parasitic drag)
no AC saves money. (AC aint exactly cheap to fix when it hoes wrong. 150-200 for a regas. plus replacing whatever caused the need for a regas.)

i have no ac in my car. but i still have the blower motor for cabin airflow.

I never use my aircon. The missus complains. I tell her to wind down her window much to her disgust.

I use my aircon on super hot days. It's definitely a luxury though and if I tracked my car more I'd probably remove it.

Pretty much what Bram said mate. This season will probably be the last of it being road driven as I'm doing only MC State series , Drags and the odd track day . The following year car will be dedicated track so no need for AC either way.


New motor will require a reversed manifold and front mount .The ac when weighed was 21.6kg not including the blower part of the ac heat exchanger which is yet to be removed .

The car is my toy.

Considering removing mine also. The compressor shat itself ages ago and I haven't really needed it.
The engine temp gets really hot on 35+ degree track days, so I'm thinking that by removing the air con, I'll also get better cooling for the engine due to less air restriction to the radiator.
