Car looked great in the flesh tonight. As said, the problem you have at the rear isn't as bad as you think it is. If you hadn't of pointed it out I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

Can't wait to see this beast of a Foz sitting on its rims. The pic looking down the side makes the flares look smaller than I expected. I was thinking that you would have around 3-4 inches of poke.

The flares are 50mm flares. And they sit about that much wider. I removed about 50mm from thw front fenders vertically. And the flare kinda sits about 45° angle. So ive basically got exactly 50mm to work with at thw front. At the rear i couldnt quite get as much hieght duw to the rear door placement. But it still has that 50mm width.

Current rims are 17x8 with 235. New rims are 18x10 (and 18x10.5) which is 50mm (62mm) wider. And I plan to put 295 tyres on, which is 60mm wider. But the offset of the rims, should bring them in a little bit on the inside edge, and hopefully fit nicely on the outer edge.

I did spend a bit of time doing measuremnts and calculations with offset and made homemade wooden spacers to try and spacer my original rims like the new ones etc. And I even unwound the coilovers and undidthe sway bar and then went through the full suspension arc at all steering angles etc to look at how things *should* fit and move together at different angles and hieghts etc. And im pretty confident it will all fit together. But it will be tight. And I guess I wont really know until I get the rims and tyres on and try for sure.

I dont want too much extra width outwards. As that means you are comprimising the scryb radius which has negatives like tourque steer, brake steer and also means the front wheels actually move forwards and rearwards as the wheels turn. Which means I would have to make even bigger holes in the guards or comprimise bump travelt/ ride hieght to makr it fit.

I just hope I can fit it in a standard car bay at the local woolies with all that extra girth. I might need an ACROD pass for one of those juicy blue bays..

Just bought a super rare Syms SG wing. As far as I know, it is the only one in the country. And now probably one of only a few left worldwide. In all my time browsing jap auctions I have never come across one so I know how hard they are to get. I was in negotiations with the seller last year and for various reasons I didnt get it. Then literally the day I picked up the parts from the painter he gets in touch and says its ready for sale. So I have just bought it. A bit bummed as I was actually holding off painting all those other bits so I could get the wing done too, but it just didnt happen. Now as soon as the paints dry, he has it ready for me. Oh well, thems the breaks.
