Sounds exactly what happened to our car after christmas after returning from overseas.
Number 2 big end bearing had gone.
Rebuild was not a option as labuor costs would,nt make it viable.

New EJ207 short block $3300[ozzy park]
Recondition old heads machining, valves and springs
STi oil pump[new]
Replaced idler pulleys odds and ends[new]

$7000-$8000 including Labour
