Jim races a GT3 CUP car, NOT a GT3 Rs (which is a road car)......

Both the Rs and Cup cars run same engine spec, same basic bodyshell but GT3RS is shorter geared and has a totally different aero package.

Jim Piloted a 996 Gt3 from 1999 - 2005 before switching to the new (then) 997 GT3 cup car in 2006 for the Australian Carrera Cup Championship.

Targa West 2006:

Overall winner was Ross Dunkerton in an EVO 9!!
Second overall was Paul Blackie in a 996 Turbo.

Mark DE CORTI

2 40 Paul SUMMERS Porsche 996 911 GT3 (black car)
Michael ARNOLD

Both WA based drivers and cars, Paul Summers now has the Green/black GT3RS seen in the Dutton for the last two years.

Targa 2007 was won by an M3.

The current GT2 race car belongs to Porsche Cars Australia, Jim was demoing that car at Porsche drive days (giving hot laps to prospective buyers)......We had it here @ barbagallo too, just prior to Targa West.

The GT2 was supplied by Porsche cars Australia (Including factory race support staff) to Jim for several Targa rounds this year after the car was officialy launched in Aus.......Everything factory spec + factory race exhaust system, runs on pump 98.

Not trying to be a smart ass......Just the facts (from someone who is trained by and involved with Porsche on a daily basis).
