tyre options for 215/35/R18 for subarus almost dont exist AFAIK, probably looking at 215/40/R18 which do have the require load and speed ratings for subarus.
I'd say they may have sold them to you because the rolling diameter if the 215/35/18 is about 1% different to the standard 205/50/16's that came on your car whereas the 40 is about 3% out. lets you use your standard spare without doing any damage to the center diff but????
