I've got both (iPhone for home, BB for work) and the two do not even compare.

You say you won't use applications, but thats because there are no decent ones for a BB. Even little things like being able to check the weather through a handy application on the iPhone I missed when I didn't have my iPhone for a week. I also find the iPhone easier to surf the net on, Safari absolutely wipes the floor with the BB internet navigator. Every little thing the BB does the iPhone does about 50 times better and easier. The touch screen is so much easier to navigate on than the keypad on the BB, plus the large visual display of the iPhone is much better than the small one on the BB.

Just get insurance for $7 a month so if the phone breaks you get it replaced.

Take it from me, I use both back to back day in day out and if I didn't need the BB for work I wouldn't consider it.
