I prefer to use the Meguiars waterless wash method with a freshly washed microfibre towel (or new if you are so inclined) as the old soap and bucket method is a guaranteed way of scratching the hell out of your paintwork due to foreign matter being introduced into the bucket of water and then rubbed across your car on subsequent passes.

The added benefit of the waterless method is that you don't need to use anything to dry your car with.

But if you still prefer to use the soap and bucket method or use a method requiring you to dry your car then some good options are the Swissvax Hydralip ($42 available from http://www.swissvax.com/E/AUW/KontaktBestform.htm) or the Autoglym microfibre drying towel (around $50 and available from most auto1 stores)

There are better products than those mentioned but trying to get them in Australia for some reason is next to near impossible.
