1. Unplug the hand controller from the
ecu.
2. Start the car (hand control unplugged)
3. Stop the engine & plug the h/c back in.
4. cycle ignition & see if it still freezes.
It's been raining, so check the h/c &
ecu plugs for moisture too.
Re: your idle issue : It sounds like you need to do an Idle re-learn.

ECU***
You will lose your tuned map.
Unfortunately you need to be able to Reset the
ecu to it's base mapping to be able to do the Idle/load learn procedure & then reload your current map after doing it.
Call the boys and ask them if they can do an idle learn for you.
