From reading many posts on here, some people hate them, and some dont mind. From what I can gather, as long as you dont over oil them after you clean them, you should be alright. My gc8 has had one on since before I bought it, and thats over 30k's at least, and I havent had a problem. I do give my AFM a bit of a clean with some electrical contact cleaner though every service just in case.
