Might seem like a stupid question but I've never experienced it before & I'm trying to troubleshoot some issues with a bad noise in my driveline (coming from near gearbox, metal rubbing noise, in gear just rolling along with 0% throttle). Had the clutch replaced 8 months ago & from what I remember there was no noise then but it has been louder lately. Last few weeks just driving around parking lots slowly I get a burnt clutch smell even though I'm not using it. I have a shudder/squeal from the flywheel as well which
AFAIK is a separate issue but may be linked.
Anyway, spoke to ASG about it & they don't seem to think it has anything to do with the clutch, I'd be able to feel it slipping if it was...except I don't really know how to "feel" it slip?
Sometimes at higher rpm on little runs on my own private streets it feels slightly jerky which I had assumed was the Walbro being over 2 years old & ready to die.
Whats the best description for a slipping clutch?
