I don't believe it would be hard for the media manager to put in an envelope information suitable for the commentators, distributed by say 000 dropping the info to the near by SOS point, or road closure guys. Could help with providing the public with accurate information.

800Hp was mentioned tongue in cheek but was that at the fly wheel or at all four wheels?
When it was identified some years ago that Rally Promotion was virtually non existent at state level, the State Rally Panel started to put some measures in place (including forming Rallywa). Things have improved a lot over the last 10 years or so and there is still some work to be done. These days generally Rallywa will provide some championship promotion, the rallywa website and peripheral items such as door plates and emergency services, however individual organisers promote their own events.
As most organisers are so tied up with getting their rally off the ground and running whilst balancing full time jobs/family, promotion is usually the last thing that is thought about.
The QFR is a little different due to its status as a round of the ARC and the Clerk of Course's personal situation.

When Rally Australia was in Perth the 000 or 00 cars used to drop results as they went around the stages, if the resources were available it would be a good idea to do it for all state rallies. The other way to let people know about the event progress is via rally radio. On some events when there is a gap in the rally radio traffic, the results of the top five are broadcast to keep officials informed. This of course does not necessarily help out the public who would like information on the rally.

I believe the 800HP was at the rear wheels, at the fly wheel it would be at least 1000
