I had a JDM STI V6 ECU running my WRX engine and it worked a treat, so I don't think this will be a problem for you. I have read somewhere that the V5 ECU's were set for high boost in the order of around 17 psi from the factory which caused some engines to pop in Australia, but this may have been before 98RON fuel was available.
