Default smc?

thinking of buying a p+p SMC v1.99 for my stock my01 wrx, but i havent had anything to do with Autronic before.

i dont need or want Antilag, rotational idle, just want a basic, tunable map based ecu thats reliable. (i was happy with a ancient haltec e6A years ago, so that should give you some idea on my wants)

just want to make sure it can handle (if tuned correctly), the aircon & idle properly under all conditions & find out if theres an other things i should be aware of.

thanks

If you not after anti lag and stuff and just a daily then I would go the stock ecu reflash way. I am running a pnp link g4 in my bug but I have plans for a built motor and I am a little fussy

bigger turbo & maybe a 207 could be in the future if i keep this car long enough- its not a daily either.
getting rid of the afm with a map based ecu is my preferred option as well

you will need to buy one.

best place to fit is the inlet manifold,

easiest place to fit is the throttle body.

mote- autronic is very particular with sensor requirements, make sure that you get the correct one to suit.

ok, no worries.

is there any easy way to tell if the ecu is for GC or GD, do they have a different number of plugs for the ecu?

THey do have different plugs, but the person your buying it off should be able to tell you.
You can buy a genuine Autronic IAT sensor off CarModsAus for around 60 dollars.
Then you just need to wire it in.
Why not save a bit and get an SM4?
It'll be much nicer to use.
