Trying to catch a cab at 1am in Highgate!!! Impossible. Drove in, had more drinks than I planned (not pissed, but cops wouldn't agree with me), so I decided to be responsible and catch a cab home, and then pick the car up the next day. Two hours of walking, not a single free cab!!

So I had a big one at stereo sonic yesterday, having to drive 180km at 6am this morning I did the righty and went to the cop station and asked if I could self test prior to driving down…

It was declined.

What gets my goat about this is I tried to do the righty as I felt OK but I did knock off a sheet load of vodka and have had a number of drink driving charges so wanted to do the right thing and the cops wouldn’t let me they said if u don’t feel right don’t drive.

Totally stupid on there behalf, the reason people drive drunk is they feel "right" to do it.

They are there to help the public but when the opportunity arises they make stupid mistakes like this.

All comes down to people been to lazy.

If you know you have to drive and work the next day, especially early like 6am, why did you drink to the point where you felt dodgy about getting in a car? Sympathy? None fucking here. Sounds like you've got a problem with alcohol, albeit seems you are doing better than before but you still need some self control - Dr Phil.

I've always wanted to have the cops be at a pub or something with breathalisers.

Let people actually see what they can and can't drink prior to driving. You feel ok after a couple of beers, but may be well over the limit. This would let people test out on a calibrated device and let the cops do some PR work too.
