Advise on dodgy purchase
A few weeks back I went with my wife to a garage sale and bought a sewing machine. Flash unit that does all sorts of embroidery etc.
Paid $400 for this and was assured that it worked perfectly. They looked honest enough so paid the money. Got it home and tested it out a few days later. Hmm not working so well. Wife books it in for a service. $125 later we get a call and we got a lemon. It has been repaired so it can sew but all the embroidery functions are no go. What is the best path of action to take. As it was a garage sale I know where they live. it was advertised in the quokka but have not yet found it to see if there is a phone number. All advise is appreciated. |

Unfortunately for you it's pretty much buyer beware.
Go to the people you brought it from and plead your case, if they help you out great. If not, smash their windows.

I like the way you think. Will try to approach them first and come to some sort of agreement. Failing that accidents will happen. Especially on a corner block in Banksia Grove... lol

Unfortunately you can't do much as it was from a garage sale
and it's the same as buying something off the street, only difference is you know where they live (; Best thing thing you can do is contact them and see if it can be sorted out but I think you won't have much luck. Hope it works out for you but if not there are always ways to return the treatment.

legally no recourse, but you can appeal to them and see what they say. If it was me I'd refund the person.
