Default Dodgy speed camera location

Headed down to Freo for a BBQ/swim with the missus and mates, anyway as we got down to the end of some road it turned into a T juntion, right near the train station. We went right, and to my dismay got flashed doing 50 by a sneaky cam. Only 60-70 metres down the road did i see an end 40 zone sign. Turned around and check, and the signs are only at either end of the zone, the T juntion comes out smack bang in the middle of them and thus, cannot be seen.

To the right is the red herring restaurant or whatever its called, and too the left is South Beach i believe.

All in all, shit friggen day. Beach was packed so my missus and her mate didnt get the goodies out, and to top it all off, all the bbq's where swarmed for ages so didnt even get a feed.

FML.

End rant.

Make sure it wasn't signed as 40km/h on the road the before the T intersection. If not, then it would have been 50km/h. Take photos. Mark the location as accurately as possible of the speed camera and also ALL speed zone signs in 500m each of the 3 directions. Take it to court. Win.

Just make sure the road you turned off of wasn't a 40km/h otherwise that is the limit which would apply as you turned either left or right off of it until sign posted otherwise.

Contest it. When you get the fine in the mail, just respond to the fine saying you wish to contest it on court based on what you've just told us. If it's true that there was no sign on the road from where you pulled into it and the camera, then you have a good chance of getting it dropped.

Yeah, we got photos and a pic of me standing next to the cam pretty much. Im not paying up, not a fkin chance. The other road was a 60 zone, we checked it all out. When i turned around the 2nd time to scope it out further, he started packing up the camera. =(

Red flash too, thought that was night only?

If he was packing up he might of been taking calibration shots, which dont get fines issued against.

The missus said the camera didnt flash until it was pretty much side by side with her window. So she doesnt reckon it got plates anyway, perhaps thats the case?

What road were you on?

South Beach is South Freo, no where near the Red Herring which borders the river in East Freo.
