Sigh...and I am too poor to afford the crack prices from Telstra....
Ombudsman. He'll make your problems disappear.
It really is too easy.

And LOL @ telstra being expensive.. it used to be.

I was paying 99 a month for no reception with Vodafone, now on 79 a month with Telstra. Best thing Ive ever done phone wise.

What usage does the 79 Telstra cap give you?

My contract is up in 7 months, contemplating weather to break out early or stick it out and wait....

$79 cap = $800 worth of calls/sms/mms and 2Gb of data.

My rant: fedex.
Had a parcel arrive in Australia on Sunday morning and was sitting at the Belmont distribution centre.
Was expecting it to arrive at a CBD location on Monday morning which it didn't, got home last night at it had been taken back to the DC.
Hope the same thing doesn't happen again today

What TJ said.
Make a call to TIO.
Let him make Vodafone eat a d!ck.
Sign up to Telstra.
Profit. (No, seriously, they're not as expensive as they used to be)

If you have a phone with Vodafone that you're making repayments on, there's a chance they wont ask for the phone back when you leave. Sell it. Then profit more.

Thanks Tony

Cause I called up vodaphone and managed to get a 25% discount on my cap for the next 3 months...

They have scheduled routine maintenance in my area for the next 2 months :/ so meh, and the reason I asked what usage the Telstra cap gives is because I currently send 4000 SMS' per month and make about $250 worth of calls...

There is not many plans that cater to that that are decently priced, at the moment, I am on a $29 cap with vodaphone with $15 of unlimited SMS added on, so $44 a month gives me $300 calls, unlimited text and social networking. It is cheap but, bad coverage.

To leave my contract is $400, I was told.

What Would Jesus Do?

I went through the same thing with Vodafail. They pretty much just kept passing the buck and couldn't offer me a solution. They were acting like they didn't know what I was talking about when I said their network had bad coverage.

Lodged a complaint with the TIO, got a call a week or so later from a rep at Vodafail, who agreed to let me out of my contract if I sent back the phone. Even the rep admitted that they were getting a lot of bad feedback about coverage and that the problem wasn't going to be fixed for a few months at minimum. They sent out a prepaid bag to send it in, and that was the end of it.

Signed up to telstra, haven't had any problems since. And their internet coverage and speed is great too.

At the end of the day, with Vodafail, you're paying for a service that isn't working when you need it to.

My misses did the same, but she got a bigger discount for 6 months
Hopefully after that period has elapsed I should be able to convert her to the big T!

A lot of people on the whirlpool (whingepool) forums have done the exact same and left Vodaphone.
