I'm not aboriginal nor was I in any way trolling. I was merely expressing what personally shits me.

The point of my post was to try point out that some people are not impressed by racism and that I believe you should be careful with what you say on a public forum. It doesn't matter what word you use it's the meaning behind it. There are far better adjectives you could use to describe an individual.

Anyway, people have their opinions and that is cool. I'm sorry if anyone took offense to my apparent 'anti-racism'

If abo is 'racist' what are these better adjectives to use?

I personally think abo is just a shortening of aboriginal and far less offensive than say Pom, which is gladly printed in national newspapers on a regular occurence.

If you can't say one, can't say the other imo.

It just doesn't make sense to me when someone is telling a story and distinguishes the person instantly as an "abo" so as to illicit a flurry of immediate negative thoughts by the reader/listener. You don't often hear someone tell a story about that "white guy" - that detail is always left out

I object to "white cunt" , but having lived in the northwest where every "abo" uses the term, I reckon fair/fair.

it's not about what you think, it's about what the person the term is aimed at thinks. Go use that word with half a dozen different Aboriginal people and see what their reactions are..

I'm talking about everyday language haha. You don't have a mate come up to you and say: "there was this caucasian guy on the bus on the other day right..." etc.

People use the word abo intentionally because they know the audience will be flooded with prejudice and immediately agree with their point of view.
