and they only fine i have ever had in my wrx was the otherday, 106kmh on the freeway, haven't paid it yet ($75)

and i have never driven on any foot path (and especially not the one corner of marmion and beach. the foot path isnt even near the road)

Seriously, 40 times? How the fuck are you driving to get pulled over that many times. There are fewer traffic cops these days than when I got my P's, and I got pulled 2 times for speeding (both less than 9km - normal roadside RBT's not included)

And since when was that a new law? Everyone in the car must be restrained (unless its a vintage car.....)

Thats not to say we haven't all encountered an overzealous cop on a power trip !!

But I agree with your philosophy.

On a positive note, good on DPI for the online demerits system. How long do they keep the records online for though? Just till they expire? I reckon they should keep it online for 5 yrs - the same period insurance companies ask you for when you get quotes etc.

On topic. I just had a look at mine. I have a '0' point conviction from March which is actually the Mrs and has been since changed into her name.

It also says I have

Your total demerit point liability 0 Unserved Demerit Points 0 Unallocated Demerit Points 0 Unserved Notices 0

Interesting when I am on double or nothing..........

Yet to meet one actually.

Every time I have been pulled over it has always been becuase I've been a dickhead. Sometimes I've not been happy about the fine, but it's always been an accurate reflection of my dickheadness. Had a couple try and trip me up, but being accuracte and polite has meant there has only been a discussion and not a fine.

I'm willing to bet 99% of the people who complain about an overzealous cop have been doing something stupid, borderline stupid, or have a mouth on them when they get pulled up.
