Drove back to Murdoch from Canningvale this arvo about 5:10, decided to zip down Roe Hwy to the Freeway/South St, bigggggggg mistake! Took 45 mins to get from just before Carol Ave to the Freeway I dunno how people do that whole bumper to bumper stop start every day, think i'd go postal. Thank god I have a job I can start at 7 before traffic gets bad.

x2 to that.

The whole freeway isincredibly shit at the moment. Even out of peak hour traffic it's bumper to bumper the whole way south.

They really need to add another lane all the way to Armadale Rd, think it would make a huge difference.

IMO we are already past the point of needing an extra lane. We are at the point where a fourth lane needs to be investigated for the near future.

A faster train and better public transport in general would take a lot of stress off the freeway as well.

Also need to see some more parking spaces being created near the train lines.
If land is limited, look at building upwards instead of out.

A few multistory secure parking lots at train stations and trains that weren't already packed would make a huge difference.

THIS!!!!

defies logic why they only build single storey carparks at train stations...they have limited land...so build up! even another 2 levels would help

No it doesn't.
Building out is always going to be cheaper than building upwards.
There could also be complaints from councils and nearby residents associated with building multiple story car parks.
I know of one parking complex in the city where the top level has been closed off due to antisocial behavior and constant damage and break ins/thefts.

Unfortunately this is the case, but would most likely be mitigated with a sign out the front saying that by parking in the complex you do so at your own risk.

I do realise that, but surely adding one more level is not THAT big of a problem for residents....look at greenwood, the sunken extended parking on the other side...they could have gone double story and it would have been lower than the overpass...?

I know building out is cheaper, but with limited space out, I would have thought they would have offset the cost with pay parking going up?
