Probably sitting in the Water Corp praying he still has a job, at least the water corp can pump up their charges to make up for the government cutbacks.

Yep have given me an approval slip to get driveway fixed and a plumber, pipes got full of sand and have poor pressure in the house now!!

No, we cant really.

All I will say is we as consumers pay too little for our water.

Gav, they will reinstate it in full.

As for our fittings, unlikely - everything we use in the field is tested to Australian standards as a minimum.

We copped some drainage charge last year, figured they were clutching at straws to save a few more jobs.

The guys that were here did a top job, and in the dark. They told me that contractors did the job in my area and they use cheap fittings to make their margins better.

The joiner that plumbed into the mains was a plastic fitting like you buy at Bunnings for a couple of bucks, the Water Corp boys replaced the fittings with nice solid brass one's.

The hole they dug was huge, couldn't see the tops of their heads!!

Interesting..

Could you pm me your approximate area.. Ill do some chasing up. Either a failure on part of a contractor, or process in ensuring the correct standard of goods were used.
