The are pro mu and pretty much exactly the same as the hc+. If there was a slight difference you wouldn't be able to tell in a Wrx.

Sounds like Mao was correct to me.

This is my understanding.

-Taylor questions the authenticity of the said PMU HC+ pads
-Mao claimed they are PMU HC+ pads
-Taylor receives an email from PMU claiming they arnt made by PMU
-Mao then recieves an email from his supplier SPK stating that the pads are made by PMU to the HC+ spec to be sold as SPK HD pads. Which is worded in a way that hides the fact they are similar but nOt HC+ pads
-Mao then then changes tact and starts using words like comparable, same spec. And even refers to them as legit PMU HC+ pads if you read back.
-Taylor then gets an email from PMU stating that they are infact made by PMU to a spec similar to the HC+ compound from 10yrs ago which is different to now and that they are not legit HC+ pads but a similar compound knock off. Apologises about their mistake in the earlier email.

Wether Mao was aware is not up too use to decide, but the fact is they are not 100% project Mu Hc+ pads.

How do we know that these pads where made to the same quality standard as the HC+ pads. Being cheaper but similar compound makes me think corners have been cut somewhere during manufacturing?

I'm currently in Newman some 1300kms from said receipt. Mao hasn't denied that he agreed to sell us Hc+ pads

Seems like my continued question as to what was actually written (branded and model # or spec) on the boxes is being dodged, not sure as to why?

That was the box the fronts came in, if not very similar and the backs were in something blue probably the ones of his thread.
Neither had project mu or hc+ displayed prominently, I remember looking thoroughly and wondering what this shit is but mao said they were the hc+ like we wanted and I knew that they would be packaged differently so trusted him.
They did say project mu in smaller print in a paragraph on the side but that was all I could see in reference to pmu, never stated hc+.

One would be correct in saying that we should have questioned them then and there but as I've said no reason to suspect mao would try and give customers the wrong product, until now.

This is what I got. I dont have the box for pads, just rotors, but in memory, it was written hd too. So they r made by pmu japan for spk, rebranded as hd instead of hc+ and scr pro.

Imo mao offers great discount compared to pmu au which is 320 for pads, 1350 for rotors, and he includes installation. Just too good to pass.
