Default To fit an 18" rim on an 05 Sti...

I've tried the search function and have received scattered information...

So I ask...

What width rim (7.5", 8.0", 8.5") and offset (+40, +45, +50) combination can you run on an 05 Sti (with PCD 5x114.3) if 18" in diameter? Ideally, what conbination is required to have the rim flush to the guard (given that the car is lowered tyre to lip)?

Cheers.

Ed.

8-8.5 and 40 series rubber would do fine imo...

8 is a common width that ppl go for, but some guys in the states have been fitting 245 width tyres without any rubbing...

Cheers trainwrex. What about the recommended rim offset rather than tyre profile size?

Consider a lower offset to fit flush with the guard..

My wheels are +52 and sit inside the guard a little, whereas my previous set were +43 and sat flush. Both 18x8.5.

Thanks Huy - exactly what I was after mate!

I'll aim for either a set of 18x8 or 18x8.5 rims with a +43 or +45 offset to sit flush.

Cheers.

I'm gonna try 245s next time.

And i hate to say it, but Fred is right. 18" is small...I should've gotten 19"s!!

yes i agree Huy, 19s look real good on a GD.. maybe i might get some te37 in 19s one day

But yeah 245 would look chunky as well as providing better handling..

Not sure though, the rim is pretty close to my strut already.

We'll see. First task is to wear these tyres down quick smart.
