I have a set of black powder coated rims I'll swap for std silver or gold, good cond, must be same as MRWA02's in above post, 02/5 I think, you pay half of tyre swap costs.

This will be like the third time I've said it, alas.... Alliance are great for repairs, terrible for painting!

Probably a stupid question but does powder coating way alot more than painting? Also which is more durable?

Cheers

Sorry to bump up an old thread but i didnt feel it was worth a new one

When this process is done, do the rims need to be de-tyred or can they stay on? If so is there an extra charge for taking them off and puting them back on?

Yes the tyres need to be removed prior to painting, up to you to organise this at a tyre shop (or wherever) beforehand though.

$15 or so each time.

ok i need urgent advice!!! i just bought a new set of rims. They are the ENKEI RPO3!!!!!!

now i want to paint them really dark grey, not a gloss finish but, more towards the mat finish. Now my question is who can i trust with these rims??? i dont want to powdercoat these rims as i dont want to heat them up, i've been steered away ffrom this choice by many wheel guys... so 2pak paint is the go i beleive.

+ opinions on the rims???
