Not that I care if it is genuine or not :/

22B obviosuly isnt genuine, and 15 isnt excessive when u see how much the new style sti wing vibrates at speed.. Id rather be safe then sorry, they use 4 bolts to put on the standard WRX wings, so why would only 4 be required for something thats twice as tall and weighs twice as much...

simple really

Going to go back and get them to fit it, plus I have an issue with a sticker left on while painting and now a corner is lifting. Looking like Sikaflex and 2 bolts holding it on at this stage

genuine is ALWAYS the way to go for these type of parts.

Yea, I know * * but Subaru quoted me $1100 fitted and painted, which I could put towards tuning and suspension mods (MUST get anti-lift kit asap). I really like the look of an sti spoiler on a rexie, it's staying on no matter what's holding it there. Each to their own, but without the spoiler at the mo I don't like it. I have however liked the look on other wrx's, just not mine. Going back to ATEC to have it fitted Friday, sans $100
PS. There are 14 different holes in this one but I'm not going to make swiss cheese out of the boot just to fit a non genuine spoiler. I'm hoping I can get away with two each side and one in the middle. Cheers for the input guys! Really appreciated,
Phil

Whats the angle like on an STi? I know that when I had my wing repainted (22B) the put it at a really odd angle and on the drive home I swear it was close to tearing off! Ohh but then I saw some n00b in Adelaide that always runs overly stupid downdraft because "apparently" its looks "sick assss mate"

The angle is virtually horizontal on a sti wing. Have the angle facing downwards helps keep the bottom end down, so it is functional at high speed.

At the cost of speed and petrol of course

Sounds like a genuine copy to me!
All OE STi (including 22B) wings attach with 12 - 15 bolts.
Very few genuine 22B ones around (except on Paul R's 22B!) since their price was prohibitive.
Good quality copies of GC STi, 22B, GD STi and GD 22B-style all come with at least 12 holes and generally bolts will line up perfectly ( having used a GC and GD versions from MRT I can attest to this). Also a quality copy one will have a smooth finish with no pin holes or waves.
If you don't want to spend on OE then make sure the copy version you buy is top quality.

In your case, get the painter to fit it and DON"T use sikaflex...use the double sided seal provided.
