I have one of these also, well had. Gotta be careful with the way they are mounted. Mine tore off at 90k's and hit the windscreen scaring the living shit outta me.

MY94 - 99....same
and different to...
MY01 - 02...same (but STi taller)
and different to....
MY03 - 05...same (but STi taller)
and different to...
MY06 -07...same

MRT and a number of others make various scoops to fit all of above...
eg 01/02 STi type to fit GC; 03/05 STi to fit GC and 01/02; 03/05 STi to fit 06/07

im not sure if u need to change it but the best thing to do would be get the 05 sti scoop and splitter as well as the 02 or newer sti TMIC....

do not run the car without a splitter......IMO

Splitter is essential, especially the rubber shroud which goes around it as this prevents air coming into the scoop from getting past the IC.

I put an 03+ STi scoop on my bugeye as i put a STi intercooler in. The scoop was a MRT replica, due to the design to make it fit a bugeye, the OEM 03+ STi splitter didn't fit properly.

I hacked it to make it fit, but a 02 STi splitter would have fitted over the 03+ ones. This was due to the rear of the scoop being smaller and preventing the splitter fitting correctly.
