Default OEM 3rd Brake Light

Ok ive got an aparent OEM rear brake light. Now, considering its straight from Subaru as the seller said, the male, and female plug tops are totally different. The light one is clear, and car one is black and smaller. Not only that, it seems that it sits on the parcel shelf raised up a bit, not flush.

Also, parcel shelf is being very annoying. I have to take the speakers out, unclip the littl mini clips in the boot, and aparently i have to take the side a pillar trim off aswel. For a parcel shelf? AM i going about this the wrong way? Is there an easier way to take the parcel shelf out because ive stripped the whole rear half of my car including the seats.

Thanks in advance

Eric

so i do have to remove the Rear a-pillars? If so, can you throw me a quick rundown on how to go about it? Seems that i will have to trim out some holes in my parcel shelf to make the light sit flush..........;/

The rear pillars mainly unclip except for a screw on each side down just lower than shelf height, and yes you will need to do a little careful cutting of the shelf.

Finally........now let us never speak of it again.

If anyone wants to know, the OEM plug from the light did not fit my OEM plug from my wing light. Had to cut and connect. To get the parcel shelf out required all the rear seats to come out....my speakers to come out (due to dodgy fitting by unnnamed places) and the side plastic rear a-apillars. Thanks for the help Simmo! :/
