Any advice on how to go about installing a stereo in the most efficient way possible i.e. not back-tracking, so as to save a bit of time and to maintain my patience?

I’m thinking:

- Remove passenger seat, rear seat base, sill trims, centre console fascia and original head unit.
- Splice and solder Alpine head unit loom to original wiring (I have a wiring diagram from the Subaru service manual so I can match up power, trigger, ground and rear speakers to the original loom).
- Install head unit, and run iPod cable to glovebox.
- Run RCA’s to where the amp will be (along the centre console)
- Position and secure amp.
- Run power cable (along the edge of the carpet where the sill covers are, opposite side of RCAs!) and fuse from battery to amp and connect all cables to amp.
- Re-wire existing MB quart splits (I integrated them into the original wiring, but running from an amp I'll have to re-wire)
- Run wires from amp to crossovers, wire them up.
- Run cable from amp to sub, wire it up.
- Re-install interior bits.
- Crank stereo

If anyone has any particular or Subaru-specific install hints they'd like to share, it would be much appreciated

I've also ordered one of these nifty accessories, which means I don't have to splice wires into the factory loom for power, trigger, ground, rear speakers, etc. I can solder the Alpine harness onto this, and then just plug everything in

1) Wind window down
2) Remove speaker
3) Insert ruler/tape measure
4) Compare gap to edge of inner door skin with speaker mounting depth
5) ???
6) Profit
