Speakers usually die from being underpowered, overpowering will just have the speaker hitting its excursion limits, not likely to damage unless overdriven for a very long time (eventually overheat) or or so far over powered it flies out tearing the surrounds (probably requiring 10x or more power than its rated), however under powering will clip the amp and send DC instead of AC and pretty quickly overheat the coil.

you can easily tell if a dead speaker was clipped to death there will be a burn mark on the spider usually.

as a general rule id want at least 2x the power going to a speaker than the rms rating of said speaker to be safe from underpowering.

Yeah I know all that. It gets that power (600) rarely - only really when showing people the limits. Even then I've set the gains so there would be little amp clipping at 90% volume on the HU (never gone that loud anyway coz of the clipped HU signal it would put out).

But anyway ZOMBEE, pics!

OK, setup a photbucket account, I'll get some happy snaps tomorrow.

Alex, I've got the Alpine V12's, both mono and 4 channel (MRDM605 &MRVF545)

No custom boot install or anything flash (will save that for my project car ), just the Alpine Type R in its box.

Cheers
Zombee

Here are some happy snaps of the stereo, not much to look at, but it sounds beaut! Amps are under the seats, so difficult to snap those. Also, have a look at the last one, took it the same time as the others and cant figure out the 'white ball or spot' that appeared at the rear of the car??? Watermark maybe?

Cheers

Hey Phil,

Yep, its the Eclipse CD8445 deck. I'm real happy with. I had Macey run an aux jack off it so I can plug my mp3 player straight in. The whole system is perfect for what I want.

Cheers

nice simple install!

i wouldn't mind a listen one day, trying to decide on a similar setup for the s201 and those pre-fab alpine boxes are very cool!
