Surely there is a detailer in Perth that does Clay baring.
Does anyone know a detailer who can machine cut back my paint? Not sure yet if I wanna invest in a orbital polisher & pads etc.

No need to pay someone to do it! Get the kit, see the youtube video .. and give it a crack.
It's not rocket science, and with the lubricant it's nice and easy. Just don't rush yourself, work in 1 SQ M at a time and ensure you give the car the best wash possible and dried/chamoied before you begin. A full wash, chamois, clay bar and wax took me about 4.5hours with a bit of other detailing in there too.

This was the most relevant thread I could find..
For the gurus, who are the Festool agents in Perth? Will a Bunnings spec Makita random orbital (speed adjustable) do a similar job? How would you go about fitting pads to its velcro backing plate?

I've got myself one of these Bosch
Works great, picked it up for $150 and i', sure to begin with will be great to learn on. Pads stick via velcro to the backing plate I've bought pads and polish and heaps of detailing equipment from Final Inspection. Also a great forum with heaps of info on what to do

How much did you pay for the B6040?
Everywhere I've looked seems to be around the $400 mark. For that price, the Festool isn't much more.

yeah that sounds about right. The Festools were around the $600 mark when i was looking, but that was 18 months ago. Also another thing to consider is servicing and parts. I had to replace my backing plate under waranty and being a Makita made that a very simple task. I imagine Makita replacement parts (like bushes) are cheaper too.

I did this the other day, what a difference!! Looks so good, even without a polish and wax. Too hard to do every weekend though Thanks for getting me motivated
