Its there different between the MY05 WRX and STi headlight unit? e.g. its the STi ones projectile and the WRX isnt, like the buggys?

By "both the same" I assume you mean both NON projectile like for the '05's? I have a '05 WRX & that's definetely NOT projectile from factory anyway - assuming we have the same understanding of what "projectile" means....

No, all headlights are the same throughout the Impreza range, only the MY01/02 STi had distinguishing projector headlights from the other Impreza models.

There is shop in the US which mods them with Honda S2000 projectors (they say it has the sharpest light cut off) and can add things like angel eyes etc but its not cheap.

Nice find Sethor ...I wonder if anyone in Oz (or Perth ideally) would do same work??? Even if a 'workshop' would be willing to arrange this type of gear - I've got a '05 WRX and would love someone to do this on mine.
