Metallic is not that expensive in the scheme of things if you are doing a full respray. If you go solid I personally think its gonna look like clear cat over grey primer.

yeah see how i go hey.. there really isn't enough info on this stuff even on the net lol. its labour.. i can do most the sanding that isn't a problem tho with metallic u like need to bring it nearly back to metal for some reason

Thats a load of shit whoever told you that. I am a spraypainter by trade.

Prep work is pretty much the same regardless of the top coat. If painting in a solid I will normally finish off with 400 grit wet. If its metallic then 600 or if its a really fine metallic or pearl the maybe 800.

not alot. If you want the car to look good you should really be putting in the same effort regardless if its solid or COB.

yeah tru man, im stressing over the colour of the car let-alone painting the engine bay the same haha. i d colour unno guess ill go find out some prices and so forth, too bad i cant paint or i would do it haha . too bad im already doing a apprenticeship or id go and learn how to paint :P

fair enough. You got a new rad support put on though or was that still straight after the smash?
Have you checked its square and tried on panels etc?
You gonna get it painted before or after the conversion?
