Hi all,

just doing a bit of an overhaul inside my car...

Got the carpet cleaner out for the floor and its done a fine job but hasn't done much to the seats. Tried the upholstery cleaner too but again had no luck.

I guess the best way would be to steam clean them?

Just after some recommendations as far as steam cleaning seats goes, best to take them somewhere to be cleaned? hire a steam cleaner? Does someone here have one and would be happy to hire it to me briefly?

i've been using a meguiar's spray on upholstery cleaner and it did a good job on the tan door trim material in my car, which was covered in grease. not sure how it'd go on the seats though!

what carpet cleaner did you use? i used to have this foam crap that was really messy and stunk alot... i'd be interested in any recommendations!

I had a carpet steam cleaner do the seats in our trucks. He charged next to nothing and they came up fkn awesome! Next time you need your house carpets cleaned, get them to do the seats over.

Yeah, used the upholstery cleaner on the roof lining, came up nice.

Not too sure Jeremy, threw the empty can in the bin and cant remember the name but it also was smelly, messy and in an aerosol can.

Thanks Dan, think i might give those steam carpet cleaners you see for hire at shopping centers a go.

Ended up going to coles andhiring one of those carpet cleaners with an upholstery attachment. seats and floor came up great. Looks brand new.
Costs about $40 for 8 hours or $50 for 24 hours.
