The Genome's trademark is its high pitched scream under full load. I have never heard anything remotely similar to it on any WRX!
But it does sound like that in the vid when you're just revving.

Yeah I scored the genome off a Rexnet private dude for 400 bucks, I really like it as its is very quiet until about 4.5 rpm and then it literally screams at you (youtube clip does not do it justice). Nice purr under no load, was surprised that it is so much quieter than my APS muffler.....
