Default Rear door speaker no-no's

I discovered this in a WRX a few weeks ago and have finally had a chance to post it up.

The owner claimed that he couldn't hear the rear speakers properly, so I pulled the door trims off to discover a lovely 5" split install.

The left rear door had the tweeter just fall down as the picture shows -

The right door didn't present it's tweeter at the first opportunity like the left but let's have a little look -

Oh, there you are tweeter -

So then I'm scratching my head as to why someone would put splits in the rear doors like that. Hmmm, then I had a thought, please don't tell me someone bought a package deal of 5" splits and 6" co-ax's and put the 6" in the front doors. Please say it isn't so -

But -

Yep, 6" 3ways in the front doors complete with operational standard subaru tweeter.

Needless to say I did a full reinstallation of the speakers as they should be. Let this be a warning to those of you thinking of letting armchair expert mates do your install.

Sadly someone in the U.S. stepped it up another notch with this awesome alligator clip amplifier power connection -

My mate seemed to use gaffa tape for just about everything. So when i asked him to install a stereo system in my old car i shouldnt have been suprised that it would "require" gaffa tape (and im talking quite a bloody lot!) plus regular stickytape too WTF???!

Got it professionally done asap
