Default seibon carbon

Has anyone bought anthing off seibon? and if so were you happy with the product and shipping?

I am looking at getting a carbon roof skin as dollar for dollar it should work out about the same as a normal skin if you include painting (so why not have something different!)

Have a read of NASIOC and see what people think of Seibon.. from all accounts its very hit and miss in regards to fit and finish, and the shipping cost makes it very expensive to get here.

Also, check the installation of the roof skins as some of them are made to go on top of a normal skin, not replace the metal one.

A proper carbon roof would not comply to ADR's as a replacement for a tin lid, unless it is fitted to an up spec model of the same chassis (think M3 v M3 CSL) and engineered as such.

Besides saving some weight would there be any real benefit using a carbon fibre roof in the grand scheme of things?

I had one of their wings previously, bought second hand from a member on here. Fitted it and then it started getting stress cracks where some of the joins were about a week after. Seems the bolts were just a bit off putting pressure on the structure.
Seibon are only carbon replicas of the real thing so some things might be slightly off.
Also, they dont hold up too well during crashes....
But in saying that, if I manage to find a supplier in australia that doesnt rip you off with shipping I'll be getting another one as they still look good.

Interest in GC8 roof skin here.
I have a damaged roof from a rally and can't justify the $ for the labour of replacing it.
Even with a mate who can do the job, the $$ of re-skinning is not good for me now (student), plus it doesn't affect the car/isn't illegal to have some dents.

So an 'over-the-top-of' skin would be much cheaper to get on. people here in a similar situation from hail damage i assume?
