My sound system in my car has decided to chuck the shits and not work properly now. last night jumped in car and heard like 2 seconds of music and from what i could hear it just sounded like the speakers were cutting out and the subs were the only thing working anymore, have fiddled around with the amp wire and plug ins etc and didnt seem to help and everytime i turn the head unit on and off music comes through for like a sec and then cuts out again.

From what i remember i got a 4 channel amp running the four speakers and a mono block for the 2 subs and obviously the head unit. Can anyone recommend a cheap place to look at this or has anyone had similar problem because i cant live without my beats

First thing I would check is the earth on the amp thats powering your speakers. If its dodgy, the amp will cut in and out like you’ve described.

Have you checked the surge arrestor 'insure what the correct wording is'

UPDATE

So have taken it to westside car audio which they have figured out its the amp and the tecknician today took it apart and seen it was very poorly put together amp with soldering bits even floating around in it. So looks like im up for new 4 channel amp. So if anyone is selling a 4 channel amp please pm me.
