I used to have a '00 rx which had nice looking fog lights.. just bought a '98 wrx with a crappy front bumper and cheap looking fog light covers. I want to put lights back in but the stock fog lights for the 98 model look crap in my opinion, and much prefer the look of the 99-00 model ones. I asked around but was told they wouldn't fit, but no one told me why. Could someone please help me out here? Is it because of the bumper, or the wiring or what?

Fog lights are mostly useless and illegal in most driving conditions except fog get a decent set of driving lights instead

Whoever told you the 99-00 ones wont fit is full of shit. They are a direct fit.
Bugeye ones are also the same.

the guys at japanese wholesale told me they wouldnt fit and they are completely different. i'm looking at buying the 99-00 front bumper with the lights anyway.

and yeh i know the fog lights are useless in perth lol, but they beat the hell out of the shitty looking covers that are on there now, plus i think they'll look good with my new headlights

Note the pre 98 front bumper with the MY00 crystal foggies. I also did the same for my brothers 94 LX using same bumper with bugeye foggies which are identical.
