Guys and Gals, I'm starting to think of a respray on the car - enuf lil scratches and some evil water stains that wont come out. Time to spruce her up a lil bit!

I'm not gunna change colour completely, but want to try maybe an effect over the top of the silver. Rather than sampling random spraypainters from yellow pages does anyone have a recommendation of someone who doesnt bullshit too much and does quality work? Alternatively good link to a website or forum to do a bit of research first...

Prefer S.O.R, but can be flexible a lil bit on location - as long as its metro area

Advice/recommendations appreciated.

'THE WRX FORMELY KNOWN AS NGH' was done at Lombardi Bros in Bentley from memory, and the finish/quality on that sick ride speaks for itself. Dunno $$$ though. I'm quite happy with the job Romano's in Canningvale did on my insurance work, but as for full resprays, I know a few ppl who've been to Lombardi and highly recommend them.

Yeh I was thinking a pearl finish, and that price sounds about what I got quoted at a few places today. Just gotta save up hard! In the meantime I'll try to make do with a serious buffing and a good polish.....(that sounds perverted)

I'll go check out Lombardi's and see what they are like.

Cheers.

I have had lombardis do a lot of work for us over the years. They did a full bare metal respray on the old mans v12 jag when he got some overspray on it and the job was absolutely peerless. Beautiful. On the other end of the scale though they did some work on my xr6t ute and it was crap. There was a run and the paint has started to peel off the bumper. They said i could take it back and they would fix it but my ute does not barr me up so i am not too worried about it.

You need to talk to the old man in there.....John (the owner)....he is the one with the office on the left of the delivery area and runs around in a lab coat. Tell him that you want a good job. If you tell him that it has to be perfect it will be.

Johns son paul owns auto strada in vic park. They also own the buildings and paint distributing business across the road.

cheers

Nope, I tried everything, but it had gotten thru clear and had crazed/cracked the paint - so respray will be only answer for me.

If ya cant cut out a bit of clear and get rid of it, then your screwed. If it isnt too bad, try white vinegar. Apparently the acidic nature can remove the stains, but be aware it will remove all paint protection also. Will definitely need to rewax at least. If you dont want to try that, then try Meguires Paint Cleaner or something like that.

As with all things like that, test on a "inconspicuous" surface first to see if it has any negative reaction.

Best of luck.
