Question Carbon Bonnet Scoop?

Just curious as to see if any one has had any problems with the po po
and carbon fiber bonnet scoops?

i've checked the ADR in regards to obstruction of view and what not and haven't found anything saying i cant have it.
but just asking if there are any people out there that have had issues.

if so i'll just get it painted :P

Cheers in advance

you wont get into trouble for a carbon bonnet scoop, only the bonnet is illegal... mainly because if you were to hit a brick wall the bonnet won't bend it will bassicly just snap off the hinges and go straight through the windscreen to decapatate you.

yes you will. Damo got a yellow for having a carbon scoop, also because of how big it was, he got it painted, problem solvered.
Also, carbon fibre will break if you hit a brick wall, it splinters, which is why it doesnt pass padestrian impact safety ADR's. I hope the dude who posted above me isn't being serious.

Damo didnt have the carbon, but a black one that was unpainted. He also only got done for the scoop obstructing view.
I'm unsure about this but the scoop is past the initial impact zone, so therefore can be considered to be allowed.

There is a ruling on how high a scoop is compared to the shape of the bonnet.

This is why 05 STi letterbox style scoops on GC8's etc are illegal.

Personally, I'd only upgrade to a scoop of the same era if one exists.

dont see a point in a CF scoop to be honest
if its the colour (black) you're after, might as well just paint your existing scoop
doesn't have any benefits over OEM (assuming you can get the same size in OEM)

refer to page 11 and 12 of this document:

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa...s_3Feb2006.pdf

key points
- not to have a relfective surface or provide glare
- not to be any stronger or weaker then the factory hole/scoop fitment
