Default Front 5.25" Splits

This may have come up sometime on this forum although I did some searching and couldn't find anything.

Just after peoples input on the front splits- front door speaker stage of there car audio setup? What is best to go for ? at a fair and resonable price? sticking with 5.25inch as dont wanna do the spacer thing unless I have too, heard Polk do a nice set of splits that fit right in OEM space? any experiences?

Does anyone have a second hand pair of splits to buy? PM me

a) you need a budget to work with, and for advice to be helpful.
b) go with 6-6.5". Spacer rings are cheap and they provide for a much studier install as opposed to just mounting the speakers back onto plastic.
c) Go visit Macey ('bumpstop' on here) & Fabian at Westside in Cannington.

I'm also looking, and all the advice I've been given in car audio shops, on here (thank you lovely PWRX peeps) and from family friends is to stick with the big brands (ie Alpine, Pioneer etc). Sure there are much better speakers put there (focal, polk etc) but bang for buck the big brands will do you right for the average person. Happy hunting!

I have gone with Alpine type -R all round.

6" front and 5.25" rear.

Works really well

I'm thinking of going with some Fusion 5.25" splits... They seem to be the only ones I can find on a reasonable budget.
Anyone had any experience with Fusion speakers? I've never used them myself, so just wondering if they can take a hammering and if they sound any good?

cheers
Damo
