STI shift trim in WRX
Just done doing a mod to the car. I installed a STI shift trim. What do you think? It was an overnight job but that was due to preping, gluing and leaving it to dry overnight. My question is soon i'm going to change the gear knob, how is it removed from the boot? want to change it to this:

It takes a lot of unscrewing.

Um I don't think I said it properly. I know how to unscrew.... I'm asking how do you separate the knob from the boot? The boot is attached to the knob after you unscrew it.

Pull it off.
There is a plastic lip at the base of the gearknob holding the leather boot on, just need to pull it over that. Given you are trying to fit a 6 speed gearknob, you might have an issue getting the boot to stay on.

You can get this in a 5 speed version with the plastic lip.
